I've never seen a Columbia Graphophone Combination Reproducer/Recorder.

Is this an Experimental Reproducer/Recorder ? (It looks "factory made").

I believe this model recorder/reproducer was used on the early Columbia Business Graphophones (1905/06).

I would say George got it right. Here is reproducer/recorder bar from the 1907 Business model:

Almost identical structure.
When the bar is in this position it is recording, when in the opposite extreme it is reproducing.
I haven't gotten around to replacing the broken reproducer stylus yet.
