The makers of this gramophone were only licensed to use HMV's British patent of 11 July 1927 on an improvement for winding the spring motor.

The turntable and speed control are by Garrard, so it is likely that the motor is also a Garrard.
The HMV Exhibition soundbox was obsolete by 1925 and is therefore of earlier date than the machine to which it is fitted.

That's a nice-looking machine there. How does it play? Good sound, you think?

Very interesting. The motorboard is flush with the case, a feature from the latest 102s... An exhibition soundbox on a S shaped tonearm!
