One of our members is looking for a Pathé needle. I believe that one of these needles that I have is a Pathé but not having ever owned a Pathé reproducer, I need help identifying which one might be work in his machine.
As you can see there are two different size shanks (for a lack of better term).
Any help would be appreciated as I'm clueless.

The one on the left with the ball tip is the Pathé stylus. The one on the right "might" be for Edison discs.

That is correct, one on the left is for Pathé.

I thought that maybe the one on the right was for Diamond Disc but the diameter of the shank is to large for use in the common Exhibition or No.2 Soundbox.
Any thoughts ??

It may have been designed for an earlier soundbox with the round hole?
The later triangle holes may not work.

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the Diamond Disc shank would fit a Cheney reproducer.

You wouldn't put that stylus in a Victor soundbox.

Its funny I ran into some different sized shanks of the Edison DD type stylus. One was large and only worked in the round hole soundbox on my Magnola Talking Machine. I did not notice till I looked at a few of my spare Magnola soundboxes that some have the round hole and some have the triangle hole to accommodate the fibre needles. Heinemann must have really kept on those fibre needles.

The needle on the right (initial post) came in this tin box. It appears to have the original cotton with it so I am assuming that it is correct but you know what they say about assuming.
As you can see the name is SAFFO Jewel Point made by the Jewel Phonoparts Co. out of Chicago.
The back of the tin box it states " Jewel-Tone attachments and equiptment for all Talking Machines.
Needle looks excellent but I have no reproducer in my inventory which it will fit into..
Any other idea's out there.
