Help with talk-o-phone horn elbow rubber gasket

Hi guys,

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a rubber gasket in the end of a talk-o-phone front mount horn elbow? It is where the elbow connects to the reproducer. Is there something being sold, or does someone have a suggestion for a good material that would work?

Thanks

Dan

Dan, I use black electrical tape. I haven't found anything suitable for this. I wrap the long throat part of the reproducer with the tape. I do it just enough for the elbow to fit on the end of the reproducer. You can wrap layers until there is a snug, not tight fit. The reason I shy away from rubber is because I haven't found anything thin enough. Also these elbows are very fragile. They are made of either aluminum pr pot metal. The electrical tape can easily be removed if desired.

IIRC, I found a rubber flange of some sort in the local hardware store, and pared down the small end until it fit into the elbow.

Thanks guys. Good suggestions. I like the idea of the electrical tape. Easy fix that should keep things together for years.

I cut a piece of rubber from an old rubber boot. Has smooth fabric lining which I put on inside. GLue in place with rubber cement. Fits just like original!
