Victor II with "cardboard" horn

I just recently bought this Victor II at an estate auction. It has a cardboard type "oak" horn with no decals. I don't know much about the horn but thought it was neat. I also found an original spring box and reproducer box inside. It seems that someone had tried to replace the spring long ago but put it in backwards. When I took it out the end had bent back and come loose but did not break. I was able to straighten it back and re-attach it. Now I am waiting on springs for the governor. Also one of the records was in a fancy bag marked "Desautles Music House" 1088-1094 Elm Street, Manchester N.H.

The horn is a Spaulding Linen Fibre Horn. The company was based in Rochester, New Hampshire, and advertised in The Talking Machine World from January-April 1908. These horns were available in either a quartered oak pattern or a mahogany pattern. This would be considered an "after market" horn. It may have been added by a period owner as an upgrade.
They originally sold for $8.00.

That horn looks great and the machine seems to be in very nice condition as well.
Congratulations

What a nice find! The artifacts and horn makes your machine especially neat.

Very nice horn and valuable. You don't see many of them.

Thanks Guys,
I saw that post George and thought it was probably the same horn but just wasn't sure. I had never seen one in person only pictures. They don't seem to show up often. Thanks again.

Not too sure I would deem these horns as valuable...scarce for sure. Here is link for reference.

I'm not about to enter into a discussion of value, but this eBay listing was a Buy-It-Now offered by a seller who had no idea what it was. (He thought it was wood... I hope the buyer knew better!) Again - I'm not going to argue value, but eBay is notoriously inconsistent, and a Buy-It-Now from an unknowing seller is no better gauge of value than a garage sale.
Applying this same logic, a Victor Type A is worth $99.00, right?
