Edison Birthday Pins

Just what is the story of the Edison birthday pins? Was there more than one design and more than one size? I know the Edison birthplace site sells repros, but how can you tell an original? Are they always marked Whitehead and Hoag? Were there any repros marked on the back like that? Any information would be appreciated and photos of original pins would be great to see.

How many of us would wear a pin with the bosses picture on it for his/her birthday? I know I would not! LOL
