Do the Amberola 50 & 75 share the same horn? I know the 30 is a smaller horn.

Yes, the 50 and 75 were equipped with the same size horn.

I saw a nice oak Amberola 75 at an antique sale in Portland, OR this weekend. The asking price was $550 for a nice machine. A few years ago I sold some spare cabinet parts from an Amberola 75. If my memory is correct, some of the parts like the front grill and top grill were not interchangeable between the two models. Jerry B.

I have another question as pertaining to the Amberola 30, 50 & 75 models. Do the all use the same Reproducer? I think some of the early ones were silver. I ask because I've seen some that have a long section that fits into the horn and some that appear to have a short section that fits into the horn. Is the short one just damaged?

They all use the same reproducer. Given a choice I think all of us would prefer the nickel plated one. Jerry

I agree, the nickel ones are nice, I ended up getting one about 10 years ago. The nickel ones, are also possible to work on if the back hinge spring breaks.

Many of the black pot metal ones, have broken necks and are almost impossible to repair if the back hinge spring breaks, as the spring is welded into the weight.

The black ones are more susceptible to pot metal issues. I suspect the black one in the photo was damaged and shortened slightly. It probably works OK. Jerry
