Cylinder Cabinet Peg Replacement

I picked up a nice cylinder cabinet at an auction a couple weeks ago. The cabinet is in great shape but pegs were missing. Today I went about replacing the pegs. I put in all new pegs and caps to match another cabinet with original pegs. I think it came out looking pretty good, what do you think?

Very nice, Rich.
Where did you source the pegs ?

I couldn't find anything the correct diameter and length so I cut them up myself. Took a little while to do but it was kinda fun.

You can purchase numbering stamps at most any hobby store. Jerry

Just curious what the stock you used to make them was?

Looks great, by the way. Is this the one that sold on Ebay so cheap? Nice score!

This came from an auction house in New Jersey not eBay. I used 1 ½" mailing tubes to make the pegs. Here is another tip to clean the old glue out of the groves in the drawers. I found a plastic bottle that was exactly 1 ½". Then I took a 1 ½" outside diameter hole cutting blade and slipped it over the bottom of the bottle leaving about ¼" exposed. I then taped it in place on the bottle. This spread the blade a little making it an 1 ½" inside diameter the same as the cut out in the drawer. Worked great.

Thanks for sharing this idea. I like the caps you made too. Can I ask how you made those, too? This looks so good I want to do it on a future project. With winter setting in, no more refinishing projects for me until Spring.

Thought I would post some pictures of the finished cabinet with all the new pegs.
I made up extra pegs and may put them on eBay. If anyone is interested I may make up more. Let me know.

How did you fabricate the end-plugs ?
