Happy to have this repaired rather than replaced. Anyone on the forum able to do this please?

That is an easy do-it-yourself type of job. Just order three new springs. However, those weights do not look like Edison weights. You may want to order three weights and springs already assembled.
Where do you live? Maybe someone is close by who can help you if you still want some help.

You can do this. Call Ron Sitko 518-371-8549. Tell him you want the governor springs and weights for a Home. You attach the new weights to the new springs with one screw. Remove the 6 screws that attach the old springs and swap in the new ones. Use the right size screwdriver and put a little penetrant on the screws to help loosen. Give it a try.

Also, whatever that thing is under the weights, does not belong there. You could just simply remove it.

Is that one of those collars with the wire on them that was used on some later governors?
