I recently got this horn. It is 14",all brass, and has a hanger ring on it. Also, the small end has a brass connecting tube on an angle. Was this the type that was used with a small table crane?

I have owned the identical horn, and my vote is a resounding yes! It works perfectly w/ a nice little table stand...it's also the way that the parts came to me from an old storefront dealer in San Bernardino, CA--Complete with suitcase full of Brown Wax and printing outfit! My guess is that this was for smaller "Home" demonstrations of the Graphophone in the last years of the 19th or the first years of the 20th centuries. The Large Horn and floor crane also were included with the outfit, but alas the big horn was severely damaged.

Thanks for the great photo. I will have to start looking for a table crane. Was this horn and table crane a Columbia product or after market?

I have the same horn except it don't have that angle on the small end. They are great horns for a Q or any small machine.

Columbia (American Graphophone Co.) did not manufacture its own horns, but contracted with Hawthorne & Sheble during the early years. This horn and crane were H&S products, but were also offered in the Columbia catalogs.

Great find, Ken. I agree with the rest, this works great with a table crane and a small machine. This crane pictured is a nice reproduction that is reasonably priced. Joe

That looks like a Nickeled & Polished Eagle! Could I trouble you for its serial number?

Good eye I have 2 of them. PM sent. Here's the other one, it's a little dusty, just pulled it out of the closet for a pic.
