Triumph & Tribulations

I wound up my Model E Triumph after installing some of Wyatt's new belting on it and expected it to run like a top as usual. It didn't.
I don' think it had anything to do with the belting. Probably one of the kids had turned the speed control all the way down. I started to make a few other adjustments before realizing the speed control was ratcheted down. Spent about 4 hours but now it runs like a top again and that belting is so straight you can hardly tell it's moving. It's a great improvement over the very stiff stuff I had.

Glad to hear it's running well again! I really, really like Wyatt's belt material! I've installed it on all my belt-driven Edisons and I'm convinced the sound is steadier than with the stiffer, thicker material widely offered.
It can stretch a bit after installing, and in one case with my Amberola 1A (which relies on belt tension to shut itself off) I had to go in and shorten it, but that was an easy fix!

I love the belting too. That's why I needed to make clear that the belting was not the problem.

I can laugh now but I WAS NOT laughing when no matter what I did, the thing just would not run!
