SAAL AA Motor Repair

Post by CDBPDX »

Just rebuilt a SAAL AA motor that wouldn't crank up. Turns out there was a tooth missing on the crank winding gear so I replaced that. I found the missing tooth on the spring winding gear. Must have been a bad day for the motor.

Ouch!

I've restored several Saal motors and never seen anything like that. Their gears are usually so big and clunky, I could never see how that could happen.
