What are the experts opinions on this machine?

I'm no expert, but why should that stop me!
The "perfect clean condition" of the refinishing job has left the cabinet finish much lighter than the original.
Many people like the look, though it's not authentic. Pinstriping has some wear.
It is a two-minute machine with the correct reproducer.
The nice photographs and detailed description, along with no reserve and generous shipping options will probably see this phonograph selling for a higher price than what you might pay for an untouched original elsewhere, IMHO.

That pinstriping has been "touched up" by an inexpert hand. Even in the out of focus photos, it looks pretty awful.

The decal looks original, requiring the refinisher to have carefully worked around it. Unfortunately, this evidently resulted in some of the black borders being stripped away, and ""touched up" by the same person who worked on the pinstripes.

Between the too-light finish pointed out by Bob, and the sloppy detail work, I think you could do better.

I think you'd do better with an ad in the Trader section of the Forum. If you or anyone is a first time cylinder machine buyer, do yourself a favor and buy a machine with two and four minute capability. Jerry Blais

Way too light - I like original clean untouched finishes - all original decals - and original pinstripes myself,,,, I wouldn't pay more then $400.00 for this machine, but hey that's just my opinion

I realize the total membership including unanimous visitors of our Forum is small compared to the ebay audience but I wonder why anyone would prefer to buy from an ebay seller over buying something similar on the Forum. What is the attraction of ebay? I've recently had two Edison Home Model B machine for sale in the Trader section. They were each listed at $385. When one sold I edited my listing to say "Sold" and I also changed the price to reflect the actual final price of $350. My Homes were a much better value than the Standard featured in this thread. I also realize there are some deals on ebay such as the Forum member that bought a cylinder machine that also came with a Berliner horn. What's the ebay attraction?
