Vernon Dalhart record

I was received a stack of 17-78s today and I'm inclined to toss most of them in the garbage. Four are fox trots that I will keep. One is just so interesting to look at I decided to keep it despite the fact it sounds terrible to me. It's a one sided record called " Sally in the alley" on the Silvertone label. The one record I hesitate to dispose of is a Vernon Dalhart record on the Cameo label called "Gee but I hate to go home alone". The other side is Arthur Fields "Oogie Oogie Wa Wa". There seems to be some interest in Dalhart records on Ebay's sold listings. So can anyone tell me if this record should be sold or trashed? Condition is not great, but it plays.

Why would you toss any of them in the garbage if they are not broken? Give them away to a young collector or maybe Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Just my opinion. One man's trash may be someone else's treasure.

Dalhart made literally thousands of sides for who knows how many labels. I never buy the suckers and assume most of them are "trash." - but not in the literal sense. There are some people who are interested in them. Most are worth little money.

Give them to Goodwill. They help the local communities and someone might be looking for what you don't want.

If you don't like the Dalhart side, you might like the Fields side better.

I donated the records, but if I get any more free records I will check with the membership before deciding what to do with them.
