The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs & Recordings

There are plenty of rare and amazing phonographs, but the top three that interest me the most is the following.
1) Reginaphone 900 I have seen a period ad for one, but no photos.
2) CIRCASSIAN walnut Sonora Supreme. It was an option so there must be one somewhere. The only Sonora Supreme I have ever seen is in Jasper's collection and it was mahogany.
3) CIRCASSIAN walnut Columbia/Regina 240. Don't know if they offered these in CIRCASSIAN walnut. I have seen lots of examples in oak and mahogany. Jasper has one, but not in CIRCASSIAN.

If you happen to have a photo of any of the above I would love to see it. There are several others I could list, but these are the top three. Do you have your own list of rare machines you have an interest in seeing?

I own a Magnola Talking Machine, Chicago. I have seen a few upscale models this brand on e-bay over the last maybe, 10 years. I understand that there were models with Gold Plated Hardware and in Oak (in their catalog).

I would like any photos of Magnola's, old catalogs, instruction card (there was one on ebay, I missed out by $1.00), books ads, you name it, any machines bearing the name of Magnola are interesting to me.

I can't help with the Reginaphone 900 for the Columbia 240, but there are a couple of photos of a big Circassian Sonora on pages 46 and 47 of Phonographs with Flair. We were unable to find which model is it. It looks like a Supreme, but has perhaps a bit less carving on it. In any event, it's a killer machine.

George, that's a post-1919 Sonora Invincible pictured on pp.46 and 47. The pre-1920 cabinet style is not quite the same.

When I first started collecting, almost 30 years ago, I came across what I thought was a Victor R.
The thing is that it was all original, as far as I could tell, but it was Nickel Plated!
The owner said that it was a salesman's sample machine, and that it was not for sale!
I have long thought about that machine, and wondered if it really was a salesman's sample machine, or, was it possibly a 1900 Consolidated Talking Machine Co. Type "C".
It has been my "Holy Grail" to find and purchase this machine. (Any leads would be greatly appreciated!)

What I would like to see is an actual picture of a 1900 Consolidated Talking Machine Co. Type "C".
