Paillard Stirling Engine Gramophone At Auction

This morning, a Paillard Stirling hot-air engine powered Gramophone sold at a Dutch auction house.

Although, those unfamiliar with these models, may not realize this machine was really only the case and engine.

All the other parts were either incorrect or fabricated by someone. So, not even close to correct or original.
Yet, given all this.....it still hammered down a 9000 Euro price plus a 30% buyers premium and a 21% VAT.....

The parts needed in order to restore this machine correctly, will be next to impossible to locate.

I guess there is no question the rare stuff is still hot....pun intended  .

Thank you both. Glad you enjoyed the video's. I used a large German horn on the 205 during the demonstration. Some find it hard to believe this was filmed outside and the sound was not dubbed in. It's just really loud and clear.

Here is how the #205 looks with the correct horn.

Here's mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV5-s3b_0S0

It's a great machine, really amazing. Unfortunately I don't have the correct horn. I bought it with an incorrect European horn but for now I display it with an aftermarket Victor horn I've had for over 50 years. It looks great and does the job until I can get the right one. ;)

You mean that you didn't receive your phonograph subsidy from the government this year?

Gramophone78,

Maybe you could reach out to the buyer and offer to have patterns made of the parts on your machines?
