This one could still be saved! Would make a lovely machine if you can undo the "cosmetic surgery". Leave it up to Etsy.... :|

It could only be saved if you had access to a horn. That might be a tough one.

Gotta love this part of the ad: You can still crank the handle and watch the turntable operate... Yeah, hours of fun right there. A shame, really. Looks as if it was in pretty nice shape before the "conversion".

Wasn't there a special place in Dante's Inferno reserved for those who committed these sins against phonographs? Spending eternity with only Hawaiian records and Al Jolson might be an appropriate punishment. :P

"Spending eternity with only Hawaiian records and Al Jolson might be an appropriate punishment."

Doesn't sound so bad to me. Anyway, I doubt the defilers of this phonograph much care about any kind of music beyond what is mass distributed to them this month. Who knows, were they ever exposed to it, they might find that they like ancient Hawaiian records and enjoy Al Jolson.

Why not torment them with a really appropriate punishment: an eternity without their smart phone? :-)

I like Hawaiian music and Al Jolson. That will be heaven for me!! 8-) 8-) However, I can see why this machine has a bar added to it. You have to be drunk to buy this monstrosity. When you realize how you wasted your money on this, you'll be drinking your troubles away!!

I think a bad wartime DD pressing of "I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen" might better fill the bill...

For posterity... first you would have to convince the creator/seller to take less than $2,100 for this unusual piece...
