I agree, it's a beautiful example of this scarce type, though the design doesn't appeal to me personally. I find it top-heavy, although the bottom part of the cabinet is fine. To each his own.

Look at the close up of the data plate on the inside and right above it there appears to be a horizontal crack that has been glued. The lid was probably broken off at one time when the key was not available.
I bought an Edison C-19 that had the same thing and was covered up. The seller didn't mention it. Must be something in the water?

I was bidding on it and it looks like all of the bids got cancelled and started again at $100 shortly before the auction ended. The explanation from Ebay says "not available" Was the explanation not available or the item?!?!? The item started to get bids shortly there after. I am confused as to what happened.

$2600 certainly isn't cheap but that's a truly historic machine. We've had recent discussions about these machines being low in demand. I was following the bidding and noticed the cancelled bids. It makes you wonder if that made buyers nervous and held the price down a bit. If I was the seller, I would not be pleased. Jerry Blais

The seller is the one that cancelled the bids. I just placed a low bid on it to watch it, and it got cancelled about 35 minutes before the auction ended. I had a friend of mine call and ask me some questions about what I thought of it before it ended and I watched some of what was going on. It went up past $1000 at least three times and got cancelled all the way down to $100 and then it would jump back up again. I don't know how close to the end of a sale ebay will let you cancel out bids on something.
