These are from yesterday (Saturday). The morning was rainy and muddy, but it cleared up well (and my car remained filthy from the field they make us park in!).

Thought everyone who wasn't there would appreciate some photos.

that XVI in circassian walnut toward the end of your photos looks really familiar, that recognizable grain pattern is just like that one that supposedly sold on ebay not too long ago... was that the same machine? does it keep getting flipped around?

That's the first thing I thought too
Oh well mate... at least you'll have a few photo's to tide you over until the real thing comes along.

There's really some great machines pictured.
Personally, I'd like to take home the inlaid DD, and ALL the record cupboards!

Great pics, thanks for sharing!

I love the stand with the diagonal corners shooting out. A lot of nice looking machines tho.

Brian, I have no idea! But it was purdy....

The XVII in American walnut was really gorgeous. It was Lynn Bilton's.

The first item was in a Douglas cabinet, ca. 1904 I think (it belongs to the Oliphant bros., as does the Victor D with huge nickel horn and oak Melba-esque pedestal cabinet).

I had the same feeling that most likely with the kind of asking prices at Union many things even on ebay end up at the show! That russian portable was running recently on ebay as well I think? Thankfully although I enjoy seeing them, those really "Elegant" creations are nice for a museum, but sure would look silly in my farm house.. Since I focus on "hearing" what they do, even the most ornate ones usually do about the same thing the much cheaper versions did. By that I don't me tiny table model, but standard home machines that graced the living room. Those things are made for castles in many cases.

Great photos of the show...it is nice to window shop a look at some of those top end machines. That inlaid Edison..lovely.

However, am I the only person in the world to think that those phono lamps are the most hideous chintzy creations known to exist?

Nope, pretty weird looking but a fad of the time.. I can think of a lot of things I would rather do with my money.
