Hello! :)

According to The Victor Dada Book by Robert W. Baumbach, The Victrola X Type J was first shipped August 10, 1914 at serial No.76501, and last shipped October 17, 1917 at serial No.320375. Your machine was probably manufactured in late 1914 or early 1915. Check the License label on the back. If it's dated Jan. 1, 1915, it obviously was built after that date.

The "J" simply denotes the variation of the Victrola X ("Ten"). The series began with an "A" variation and went through "K" before being denoted "X-A" in late 1917. The X-A went through 2 variations until the model was re-named using Arabic numerals in 1921.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm, a Victrola as (anti-)art. Sometimes a typo just funny. ;)
