Just brought home an electric Edison Business Phonograph c.1905. Haven't ever seen one of those before. It seems to have both the recorder and reproducer but I can't get anything to move yet. Am I correct in assuming the 'spectacle carriage' should swivel fairly easily? It is frozen solid right now. Am I missing a locking mechanism release somewhere?

Happy Holidays!

Here are a few pictures of my Edison Business Machine Model-D from 1905. It is a beautiful machine to look at and is one of my favorite machines. You can record on it using standard dictaphone cylinders. I especially like the brown wax Cylinders. The machine ran on either AC or DC. You would make that selection on the rear of the machine. I also included a picture of the machines recording horn. This machine is fully functioning and runs very good.

The spectacle should move freely. It lifts up and down and moves from side to side to choose either the recorder or the reproducer. I think it has a great look mainly due to the amount of the chrome surfaces.
