I live in Lexington, Ky, and I'm trying to find the value of a Victor Victrola VV-XVII for my dad. It still has a few folders of albums in the bottom and looks to be in nice shape. I am trying to get a value to know how much we should list it for locally without loosing out on money.

Thanks for the help.

Not sure what the market is around you, but I would guess around $400 - $500 if the cabinet is solid, and you have the other brass fitting. I have seen them from $300 -$700 In the Washington DC area depending on condition. It depends on how long you want to wait for a buyer. Large machines have been coming down in price, but this model is one of the more desirable ones so someone near you may want one. If you only want to sell locally you can try craigslist and start on the high end. You could also list it in the trader section of this site.

A VV-130, which is a continuation of the XVII, recently sold in the Trader section of the Forum for $425. Jerry Blais

Thanks for the info.

Do the records in the folders have any value?

Without knowing what's in the albums it is hard to comment but... Most 78s have a low value. Jerry
