Just got back from Chicago with my latest Craigslist find. A Victor type M (serial #19529). Gave it a light oiling and it sprung back to life! Need to tighten up the case and new gaskets in the Exhibition reproducer, but it is a remarkable survivor. It also came with a mahogany Larkin music cabinet and a couple hundred records I will go through tomorrow!

Nice find. How is the VV 4-7 project coming?

Happy to say I finally have some time to work on my machines. Started working on the 4-7 this week. Lubed the motor, running nice and strong). Replaced the o-rings and ball bearings in the reproducer and is is sounding great! Next battle...the case.

posting some photos, before and after, regarding the restoration might be nice, and would probably be appreciated by the guy who seemed to have given this machine to you for nothing on just that one condition.

Not much to see so far. Once case cleanup begins, I will be posting before and after pics. Thanks for the input.

Case has been tightened up, orange oiled and shellacked. Horn cleaned up & reproducer re-gasketed. It is strong and loud!

You may want to contact John about the corner columns he is selling. If they fit your case (not sure), it will bring it back to original.

Thanks for the tip. I completely missed that it had the wrong corners! Oops
