Sew them in an envelope, of course... why didn't I think of that?

Who'd a thunk it! Well here's how I shipped about 80 diamond discs across the pond.
- Individually wrapped in sleeves with plastic covers, to keep the labels from rubbing together.
- then packed ~40 to each of two 12" x 12" x 12 boxes
- then dropped those boxes into 20" x 20" x 20 boxes, lined with ¾" hard foam insulation all the way around.
- then gap between the inner & outer boxes packed with peanuts

Both boxes were lost and traveled to various cities before making their way home. At least one appears to have gotten very wet, had started to come apart. There were multiple punctures through the outer boxes. All records arrived safely though, about a week after I arrived.

I ordered some books from France once. When they arrived, it was clear that the box had fallen into the ocean. It smelled of seawater, the box was crumbling and it came tied up in a burlap sack with my address on it. Luckily only one book was damp and I was able to dry it out.

Leftover pizza boxes and tape work. Just be sure there's no cheese or tomato sauce (or anything else) stuck to the inside.

I got a record like this once, and it was grease stained. I left negative feedback...that's just nasty.

I agree, that's nasty grease stains from food, and those food stuffs on records. Besides, all of the mold that can grow on the records. I would have also definitely left negative feedback on that one. Besides....my Victor machines does not like the taste of food on its records.

I have received enough damaged records in my lifetime. So I finally started to leave negative feedback on the auction site, when they are poorly packed.
