Did VTM ever produce a metal portable with an AC induction motor ?

Not a proper or original product, I am sure. I can't even put together some of the photos as being from one single thing - some clearly show a black steel motor "board" screwed onto blonde wood framework, yet nothing of the sort matches in the other photos.

Yes, VTMC put a portable phonograph (with windup or induction motor options) in the VV7-11 (and VE7-11 combined with but isolated from the Radiola 18. This is likely the machine they source the phonograph from.

Thanks guys, I should have been able to figure that out... :roll: I actually have a VV 7-11 in storage.
