The Talking Machine Forum — For All Antique Phonographs & Recordings

Basically the (German) Lindström/Parlophon coin-operated gramophone model "Junior", but sold only (?) in Austria.
Constructed by Leopold Kimpink in Vienna, the "first and only talking machine factory in Austria" (1912).
Seems the cabinet had been made only for the market in Austria by Kimpink. He also sold the "Vindobonda Record".

This is a straight up Parlophone, definitely not made by or especially for Kimpink. Just because they labeled it with their own logo does not really mean much. Kimpink did have a recording studio in Vienna and did produce their own records, bit a factory for making Phonographs, - I would be happy to find details. In one of their adverts they also "make" cast iron ovens. There were many other companies in Vienna also selling Parlophone products, e.g. Theodor Pichler, Rotenurmstrasse.

There is also a reference to this Parlophone model in a book by Chew / Science Museum London (I do not find my version at the moment but will post a reference as soon as I do).

This model was sold in all places where Parlophones were sold ca 1910-1918.

Thank you about this Infos! As almost all of this gramophones showed up in Austria (till now), it was the thought that it had been made particularly for the market in Austria. Kronprinz (crown prince) wouldn't the worst name for this grandiose model… Would love to know the information’s given with the book you mentioned.
