The Green Bros vesion of "Yes! we have no banannas" is a very good one.....but I don't think it would be worth paying that for it!

Yes, these two diamond discs are definitely overpriced. If I recall correctly, I paid about $20 for my copy of "Yes, we have no bananas." It's a common 51000 series disc that is heavily in demand due to its well-known title, and yes, one might have to pay an inflated price for it on Ebay. However, $150 is absurdly high!

Richard,

It's one of the best Edison Diamond Disc made. "Yes! We Have No Bananas" and the flip side "Ritzi Mitzi (A Snappy, Peppy Ditty)" by Kaplan's Melodists are both excellent!

Both are on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k5X_R5Xmd4 Played on a Edisonic Beethoven Phonograph

"Ritzi Mitzi (A Snappy, Peppy Ditty)" is played on a Victor 10-50 with a Brunswick Ultona reproducer. Quite interesting video. An electric DD is also being played on the Victor. "Ida! Sweet As Apple Cider " by Winegar's Penn. Boys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zQw4K80QtM

Rocky,

I have noticed that well known songs on Edison (both DD and BA) often goes for ridicules high prices, even if the record isn't rare at all.
If my memory serves me right I payed $72 for a BA of Yes! We have No Bananas.

I noticed quite a few DDs going for outrageous prices, like $187.50 plus shipping for Billy Murray's performance of "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along" (50227):

eBay Item #330337025229

For the "record," I had a copy of 51177 (Yes, We Have No Bananas) and it had a bad groove, so I bought another NICE copy on eBay in February for $9.50, including shipping. How's that for a 1600% markup?

WOW! $187.50 for a Billy Murray disc!
That's just crazy!
It would be okay if it was a 1929 electric.
But for "The Little Ford Rambled Right Along", as said, that's just crazy...
