I don't quite know how to describe this, but it appears victor used up the old stock of Victrola X manuals for the updated version, the Victrola 80. Where these even the same machine? It looks like Victor just crossed out the "x" and wrote 80 underneath it. I found this photo on a Craigslist add:

It's not a typo. Victor continued to used up older instruction owners manuals from their previous roman numeral series into their numbered models.
Since they were basically the same anyway.

Yes, I have one of those VV-80 manuals with crossed out X as well. They show up quite often.

I wasn't aware that this was such a common occurrence. Thank you all for enlightening me! I have noticed some interesting phenomena with machines as well, like an "XVI" being stamped over a "VTLA" on a data plate.
