Originally made for the indian market, the HMV 25 was also one of the last horn models that the Gramophone Company Ltd. sold with the home market.

Does this predate the models with the corner-mounted tone arm and conduit, or is it contemporary?

Correction: it was not originally made for the Indian market. It was a mid-20's addition to the British home market and available in oak. The Indian models followed and were usually made from teak.

It predates the Model 32 (to which you are referring to) which also had the four-spring motor and 12" turntable and the exclusive Indian market Model 31 (double spring version of "32" with 10" turntable).
