This Edison "Table Top" is said to be an "H" serial #27172, asking price $500,and of course the pictures stink. The only H model I know of is Hepplewhite. The lid doesn't match the square type lid nor did it have fluted columns. Matter of fact I can't find any with this grill or fluted column in any model.It most definitely is an Edison, just non I've ever seen. Any ideas?

I don't think that cabinet is anything that was manufactured by or for the Edison company.

To me it looks as if someone stuck an A 100 (or similar "100" sized) mechanism into an unknown cabinet. I'd like to see the horn and lower horn support shaft pivot bushing, if there is one.

The lip around the top of the turntable compartment is interesting.

The data plate in the crummy photo looks like "H-19." The serial number looks pretty high as well. I suspect the mechanism from an H-19 was dropped into some other cabinet. I'd bet my winning Powerball ticket that this machine never left the factory this way.

You guys have better eyes than mine. I've been trying to read that data plate for hours I asked the seller to send me some clear pictures, bottom, inside, data plate... ....that I can read. I haven't heard yet but will keep you posted if I do. I was hoping someone would recognize the cabinet as some other brand so I would have an answer.

Yes, I believe you are right again. My powerball ticket won me $4.00.

And... has anyone seen a DD where the ID plate is fastened where the decal should be?

Absolutely! I've also seen this done to Chippendales, and have always wondered why.

It just occurred to me the reason might be to cover up - or "replace" (in the person's mind) - an existing or missing decal.

That suggests there could be a clue to the identity of the original donor cabinet under the errant dataplate.
