Strange BA Cylinder

Was going through the the 700 cylinders I picked up last week and this one made me take a second look. Pretty ingenious I thought.

So someone cut off the last strip of celluloid at the bottom and slid the rest up, so the top would not slit further? Is that a good solution?

Weird. It looks like someone put a Blue Amberol celluloid sleeve over an Indestructible core.

It definitely does look like an amalgam of a Blue Amberol and an Indestructible. My question is, why would someone have done this?

Bingo.

That's what it is.

I wonder why I never thought of that?

Why they did it? Well, I can only "assume" that most of the plaster from the rear was completely gone..yet the all the celluloid was intact and undamaged...Kind of like the inside of a Lambert cylinder.

Whatever the case, It's neat to see!
