I have been working on a guys Brunswick last month, I could not believe it had the Heineman motor in it. The motorboard was the crescent type.

I guess that Brunswick is no better than my Magnola.

Most of the Brunswicks I've seen have Brunswick motors in them.

Based on the ones I've seen, their cabinet / mechanical build quality is equal to Victor.

My Cortez's motor is remarkably quiet and from what I've been told, the Brunswick reproducers very rarely need to be rebuilt. I compared my Cortez to a friend's Credenza and the Cortez was a better machine overall.

Does your Cortez have a Brunswick or Heineman motor?

I should probably open it up. It works so good, I haven't had the reason to go under the hood!

My 2 Brunswicks have Brunswick motors. They are super quiet running and look to be very well made motors.

The Heineman type motors in the Brunswick machines have the unusual Brunswick governors with the over-engineered flywheel. There are a lot of motors based on the Heineman/Meisselbach/Saal design, each has a little design difference to make it their own. Some of them seem to be equal in quality to any Victor motor, others are a bit cheaper looking. I just picked up a monster 4 spring version of this motor with a Meisselbach ID tag. It is very smooth running, definitely a high end motor.

I've been more impressed by Brunswick and Saal motors than I have with Heinemann...
