I have a black painted original cygnet horn with lack of paint, but I don't want to repaint (see the photo). How to restaure this horn ?

I don't see how you can possibly "restore" your Cygnet bell unless you apply some paint. I'd suggest you post a photo so we could more accurately judge its present condition. Jerry Blais

Personally if the horn pictured were mine I would not do any painting, Other than a few minor scratches it looks like a nice original painted horn. I would just do some light cleaning and wax.

I agree with Larry. If the bright metal distracts you too much you could try to fill these areas with a black permanent pen, let it dry and then polish it lightly with WD40. That hides the scratches somewhat, at least from a distance, and is completely reversable.

Good luck

Thank you

Black permanent pen, type ?? http://www.sharpie.com >> model ??

Polish with WD40, OK.

And how do I do with wax? What kind of wax, user manual, etc.

WD-40 is not polish.

Sorry, should have said to slightly wipe it down with WD40 in order to soften the difference between the paint and the permanent pen. Sharpie should work I think. Like I said this is not a permanent repair, but will hide the bright metal a bit.
