Save the Rivoli Project

Working on rescuing a Ravoli upright (cabinet is a disaster and the cheapest thing I have ever worked on). So far I had to remove one complete side and replace it, cannot use the usual way of removing veneer as the wood backing is so cheap it warped and split. One door looks like it was hit with an axe, the cabinet is so dry everything inside has fallen off the machine. I have done many machines but this thing takes the cake and will certainly get me through the doldrums of winter. Anyway the machine has a Heineman motor (has the number 3 on the bottom plate and what appears to be a part number). It appears both springs need replacing, these spring barrels appear so small I find it a real stretch this machine could play a 78 all the way through when it was new. :(

Anyone work on one of these motors and are these size springs available, they look like ⅞ in.

ThanksBill K

Wow, You are indeed good---what an accomplishment it will be when completed. What horn is in that model Rivoli ?
