Can Anyone Help Identify This?

I recently picked up this very incomplete machine with a small collection that I acquired. I do not recognize it as any American made machine. The motor itself is one that I do not think that I have ever seen. Same with the crank. It may be of European origin. I believe that it was originally a front mount machine of some sort. Any help identifying this would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

This might be a store advertising display base. Many companies used a similar base and mounted a rotating display on the spindle. Hohner harmonica used this type of base for a display.

That would be my guess as well, especially since it looks like there was originally only a spindle and nothing else that would indicate hardware for a reproducer or horn.
