That's a crime - Silvertone had the most beautiful cabinets in my humble opinion

Apparently the factory urethane was faulty, so he re-urethaned it....

Urethane is so handy, mainly because you can roller skate on it! I used to do house painting for an old guy that told me that once... He was serious though.

Anyone have any information on what model this might have started out as? I have an identical Silvertone cabinet in good condition, but fortunately mine still has the original mechanism! Trouble is, I've had no luck trying to figure out a model number or when it might have been manufactured. Any help would be very much appreciated:

It's a Model XV Louis Seize design.. The first ad it was in is from 1920, and the last ad is 24 or 25. It was the second most expensive Model Silvertone made.

Benjamin, thank you so much! I've been looking for this information for a few years now. This was the first phonograph I got, a gift from my wife. I've gotten a few more since... funny how that happens...
