An email from Jalal Aro in Paris:
I have tried my very best to build the wonderful project Phono Museum, the museum of recorded sound: 140 years of the history of sound. The collection is amazing, certainly one of the finest in France, in all seriousness. The museum project is unquestionably unique in all of Paris. Situated at the foot of the famous Montmartre hill, the location is ideal. Please see the link: http://phonomuseum.fr/ and also: https://www.facebook.com/PHONO-Museum-P ... 57/?ref=hl
However, as with so many cultural endeavors. the problem today is financing. We had believed that the city of Paris would help us. Many encouraging words were offered, but ultimately they came to nothing.
Now the project is in a delicate position. In order to survive we are appealing to your generosity, via crowdfunding. We will continue to try to obtain support from the City of Paris, as well as the active participation of the town hall of the 9th Arrondissement where the museum is situated, but there are no guarantees at this point.
Please check out this link to the crowdfunding platform Ulule, on which you can make a donation, with or without a special gift according to the amount donated, listed on the right side of the page. http://fr.ulule.com/phonomuseum
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Thank you in advance.
With very best wishes,
Jalal Aro
