Forgive my nosey nature, but are you using 2 Ebay identities, and why?

I count 3 different handles in the various listings shown on this page:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/262295356471?ssP ... 1555.l2649

… and these three are not the same as the one used in the links at the start of this thread.

I guess there are a lot of Diamond Disc dealers in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.

Best wishes, Mark (also curious)

I wonder muchly, especially because the records being offered are mostly quite nice.

Doubtless we'll be hearing soon from the fortunate souls who snagged these rarities at reasonable cost....

I was wondering the same. That question along with the extremely high shipping cost has caused me to watch but not bid.

Such excitement and drama. I should have stuck to collecting postage stamps. I must take my cardiac meds before I become too excited.

Quit wondering and buy them! They are both about $27.00 US. The OM5 disc (which is OM5 on both sides) is a great record. Jelly Roll Blues is right up there with the best of the Edison popular records. I just sold a lower graded copy to a long time jazz collector and dealer for $20.00 - no questions asked.

Jim

EDIT: Oops! I just noticed the shipping costs. Forget it! Perhaps the seller is using multiple IDs to avoid combined shipping.

To be fair to stirling, those are actual costs. I used the Canada Post site to calculate a 12in x 12in x 4in, 4 pound box - what I figure would hold 2 Edison discs, from Alberta to me in the US - almost exactly what his ebay figures show.

I guess shipping costs really have become insane, although that's about $10.00/record IF the same person bought both of them.
