You don't fill dents, you remove them. Dents in horns should be removed by rolling them out and not hammering. It's the exact same procedure as used to remove dents from musical instruments. There is a contributor on this forum who provides this service. Perhaps another poster can identify them for you.

You'd need a mighty small hammer/arm/hand to remove those dents! OTOH, you could plop the horn onto an appropriately-shaped mandrel and push the dents from the inside out by pressing the horn firmly while rolling it around the mandrel, as the previous post has it.

The fellow you are referring to is "Ripduf1", John Duffy. You may want to contact him directly by PM in case he does not read this. I just bought a really nice Edison black & brass horn from him. I will pic it up in June.

I'd try gently hammering it out, not sure how you'd roll something that narrow.
The only thing I can think of that would fit in there would be a modified auto body spoon.
You'd probably be better off making one as it would be pretty hard to find one with a perfect contour
and using the wrong one would just make the job more difficult

You don't necessarily roll the dents from the inside out. You can slide that horn section over a steel mandrel or rod, then with a steel roller, you roll across the outer surface of the horn, letting the horn "float" between the roller and the mandrel. By "float", I mean let the horn's position and movement be influenced only by the pinch point between the roller & mandrel. In the case of this horn, you should unsolder and remove the small end, as it's a mess anyway, and will give better access for the mandrel to protrude through the horn.
