That is so embarrassing and makes you just want to roll your eyes! 
There is a shop in town that has had a rare cylinder for sale for years that also makes me shake my head.
He thinks its a Royal Purple. I finally mentioned to him that it was not and it is very easy to check.
I will probably continue to see it for years to come.

Selling what sure looks like glass as porcelain. Oh yes, and it's rare.

To the trash, as as collector I would not even keep that.
