Many of us will remember back in 2003 when the late Charles Gregory published his monumental 4-volume work on Edison Disc Records. Nothing like it had ever been published before or since. The original price for the 4-volume set was $199. Now, through an arrangement with Mr. Gregory's estate, the Antique Phonograph Society is pleased to announce the availability of these same books from Mr. Gregory's original inventory - - at a much reduced price to bring them within reach of all collectors.
Edison Diamond Disc Record Labels & Discography is a four volume reference set of books, and contains:
5,050 Different Edison Diamond Disc Record Labels from the popular series. (These can be photocopied to replace lost original labels.)
135 Different Edison Monthly Record Supplements.
997 Edison Recording Artist Illustrations.
282 Edison Diamond Disc Machine Illustrations.
1402 Total Pages.
Edison Artist Index and complete Dating Guide from recording studio cash book entries.
This four volume set is a comprehensive discography of immeasurable value to record collectors and to others interested in popular music and popular culture of the 1920s.
Price: Only $40 per set spiral bound, or $50 per set perfect bound.
We are not yet ready to ship these, but we can bring a limited number of sets to the Wayne show for immediate delivery. If you would like a set, please either PM me or post you interest along with which binding you prefer.
There is no obligation (although we'd appreciate not hauling around unwanted sets!) but to be sure we have enough sets at the Wayne show, please let me know your interest along with your choice of binding.
I will post here when these books are available by mail.

Oh, fiddle DD! I paid retail for mine. For those who are unfamiliar with this set of books, this review covers it quite nicely:

I like to buy the hardbound copy. Do I send you the payment? Consider a hardbound copy sold.

Harvey, if you'll be at the Wayne show, you can pay at that time. As I stated in the posting,
"We are not yet ready to ship these, but we can bring a limited number of sets to the Wayne show for immediate delivery."
If you will not be at the Wayne show, we can ship you a set once that operation is set up (which will be soon).
ALSO: a couple of people have specified "hardbound" as their choice of binding. Again, the choices are:
$40 per set spiral bound, or $50 per set perfect bound.
If you don't know what Perfect binding is, have a look at this:

Finally, please note that as of today, these books are available
FOR WAYNE SHOW DELIVERY ONLY. As stated in the last line of the original post,
"I will post here when these books are available by mail."
Thanks for all the orders we've received so far. See you at Wayne!

George, I won't be at the Wayne show. Let me know where to send payment, and when the book is ready to ship, I'll be looking forward to it.

Yes, Mr. Gregory compiled an amazing amount of DD information in those volumes, and I frequently refer to the set that I purchased when they were first published. I had also hoped to reproduce some of the labels from the books to replace some missing or damaged labels on records in my collection. However, I found that (as noted in the timbrooks.net review posted elsewhere in this thread) the labels reproduce clearly enough, but no one will mistake them for originals. The main reason for this is that (in my experience) the label photos in the book are not exactly the same size as original DD labels, so they don't exactly fit the label space on the record. In addition, the so-called "red star" labels are reproduced in the book in black and white, so the red is lost. Having said that, it is still a must have publication for every serious DD collector.
