Hi, I am restoring a spring wound Business Model D with the spectacle reproducer holder. Would this have used a standard 4min H reproducer and 4 min recorder or where there specific reproducers/recorders for this machine ?

Here are pictures of my original Business Machine with the AC/DC coil on back. The machine run great and uses standard dictaphone cylinders. The machine does not use either Model C or H reproducers it had it own reproducers. I will take a picture of them and post them a little later today. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Thanks Rich. It came with a green painted H so I assumed this was correct for it ! Is the stylus a different size then ?

I have a Biz Phono too, albeit spring wound, and will try to get some shots of the reproducer and recorder and post them here as well. Definitely not entertainment cylinder compatible on the stylus size, as well as on the carriage travel rate.

The tpi for the Business Phonograph was 150, right in the middle between 2 minute and 4 minute machines. So I would assume the stylus diameter would fall halfway between those sizes as well.

The biz phono was also designed to run from 75-80 RPM's...Closer to 80RPM's though....Half the 160 RPM's of the 2 and 4 minute machines.

Here are the pictures of the reproducers. As you can see they are in new condition.

I will say that the recorder does need some new dampening, they were natural rubber rings, almost like two red rubber bands but it was moulded with a slot to fit the diaphragm in.

Here are the recorder and reproducer that came with my biz phono. I think the other guy has a regular Edison Model B reproducer on his, which might not be correct, but who knows...
