I can't find any information about this gramophone !!!

On the soundbox front is ""Made in USA" "The Gramophone Co. Ltd" Exhibition, "London-Berlin-Paris".

This is a Gramophone Company (Britain) product. I think that the model may have been "Sheraton Library Grand". It is an early inside horn machine dating between 1909 and 1911 or 1912, I think. Before the Great War the Gramophone Company imported most of the machanical parts of their machines from the 'States, so the "Made In USA" is correct. I do not have my copy of "His Master's aGramophone" (an exhaustive treatise on the products of City arose and Hayes) immediately at hand. Perhaps one of our English members can give more specifics.

This looks to be a variant on the Model XI (a mahogany version of the Library Bijou Grand). These had an undertier, presumably for placing albums of records on rather than enclosed record storage like the one pictured, but in other respects the cabinet work certainly points to this model. Interesting that the decal is the recording Angel rather than the more usual 'Nipper'. According to the book, His Master's Gramophone, the Model XI was in production from November 1910 to December 1915.

Unusually the side panels of the cabinet are made in two pieces, so it is possible that this a Model XI which has been modified to special order by the factory.

The "Recording Angel" lid transfer suggests that the machine may originally have been exported to a country where the dog (i.e. "Nipper") was considered an unclean animal. Another alternative to the Nipper transfer is pictured on page 251 of "His Master's Gramophone".

This is a very interesting machine which is well worth further research.
