A revelation and a revolution......The Edison-Bell "sypathetic" chromic needle and grip. .
Such a bold claim for such a small item.
At first, I thought this was just a regular needle tin. I guess not. Seems that a Mr. J.E Hough was offering this initially. Then, Edison-Bell stamped their name over his (sort of). Two packets were inside the tin. One in Mr. Hough's name and the other with the Edison-Bell name. So, not sure what to make of this.

Has anyone seen one of these before..??.

J.E.Hough Ltd and Edison Bell were effectively one and the same.

James Edward Hough began importing phonographs from the USA in the 1890's and eventually became the General Sales Manager of Edison Bell. In 1909 he acquired Edison Bell outright and the company became J.E.Hough Ltd, but the Edison Bell name remained in use.

Edison bell was wound up (no pun intended!) in 1933 and it's assets were taken over by Decca.
