Just found this on Ebay:

I've never seen an A-300 Diamond Disc in this side-door configuration, or with this side trim.

For the most part, I'm pretty content with my lot in life. When I see pictures like this, I wish that I was part of the 1% of this country with lots of disposable income. If I was this beautiful A-300 would be mine. Oh well, maybe one day I'll get to see one in the flesh. If it was mine I wouldn't part with it for double the asking price! Thanks for posting.

Not to mention really handsome. A custom order perhaps? I wonder if they may have used the side door arrangement so as not to break up the spectacular Circassian panel on the front? There is a picture of an A-300 Circassian in Frow, but it has the typical front opening arrangement.
It will be interesting to see what it brings.

The cabinet is most interesting - - and not just for the side door access to the record compartment. It appears to be a mixture of Weber and Pooley designs, yet not quite either one. The grille design would suggest early 1910, and the louvers on the side suggest that vintage as well. As far as I know, Pooley was the only cabinet manufacturer to supply the "Modern Renaissance" cabinet in Circassian Walnut. I've never seen one like this!
When I first saw the horizontal trim on the sides, I feared that the cabinet had been sawed in half, then put back together. Thankfully, that doesn't appear to be true!

The feet are very different from other Amberola/Diamond Disc cabinets, too, I think.
I'd love to know the story behind this one.

More images from eBay, for posterity. I'd hate to lose sight of something this interesting.

Very nice machine and all original. However, I wonder about the seller. A newbie with one feedback point. I wonder if this is a legitimate sale or a scam? I'd be very leery of this, and buy with caution. The pictures could be lifted from someone else's collection.

I'm only 30 minutes from Hickory....but WAY outta my price range. I can't imagine a A-1 in circassian being worth that much. Wonder where they got that dollar figure?

Beautiful, beautiful machine! Oh my, if I had $10,000 to drop right now!!
However, the seller selling this has 1 feedback, and it looks similar to scams I've seen recently. Like that Edison Doll a couple days ago.
