Motors, Victor 4 spring

I am rebuilding the motor for my Victor XVII. I didn't make a note of which way the springs were wound when I took them out! Now I'm putting them in the wrong way. Each spring barrell has 2 springs. What is the correct way to pack them? From crank-end on do I do counterclockwise, clockwise, counterclockwise, clockwise?
