Yes. They're very uncommon.

They surface very rarely. I searched for 25 years before finding an Edison Home model C. The Edison Home model C will likely be your most difficult Edison Home model to find of the Home models that are known.

Someone at the Orlando Phonograph show a few years ago was selling a mint rare Home Model "F" with its original shipping box I think. I had never seen one. I'll see if I can fine the pic... Other than the different letter, I remember that it did not look much different than a Model "D" or Model "E". I'll see if I can find the pics I took of it..

Tom -
I've been keeping an excel data sheet on Homes seen on ebay for the past 8 years. So far I've only seen 4 model C machines. T The lowest serial number is 337995 (a bedplate only) and the highest is 338709. The model F is a little easier to find. I've seen 6. The lowest model F serial I've seen is 395896 and the highest is 402696 with lots of model E machine mixed in between. You're totally welcome to a copy of the excel sheet if you want it. Just PM me.
Regards,
Martin

Martin, I found the pics!... I took them in 2012 at the Orlando Phonopgraph show. It is a Home Model F Serial#406286 that was found with its Original Dealer/Jobber crate that it originally came in. The asking price back in 2012 for it was $1000.00 with what you see in the pics along with its dealer shipping crate. You'll need to update your Excel Data Sheet. See all of the pics below:

Thanks for the photos, Tony! With it being such a late machine, I would have guessed that the machine would have been set up with a cygnet horn and large horizontal carrier arm. The earlier type 6 patent plate (with the model type indicated as a suffix to the serial number), might be a clue to it having been originally meant to be a "D" machine.

Look at the "tail" of the "F". It looks to me that either an "F" was stamped over a weakly struck "D" or possibly what we're seeing is an incomplete "E". I'm leaning to it being the former. I'd certainly like to see it in person. Very interesting. Thanks again for sharing this!

It is my understanding that the Model F Home machines were shipped with the horozontal carriage.
