Hello everyone,
I just wanted to post pictures here of my Victrola VV-XI that I've found about 10 years ago in an antique shop in Lancaster PA. I've only paid about $280 at the time. In addition, I've spent another $100 in getting the reproducer and motor restored. I've located the missing needle cups on eBay and bought them as well as the missing front locking key.

The paper copyright notice is still on the back and says it was made in 1915!

You are off to a great start. The VV XI is a good solid machine that will give you many hours of pleasure. The rounded metal needle cups were never used by Victor. The needle cup with the lid, is correct. That goes in the center. It was for used needles. The dished sections on the wooden holder did not have metal cups. They are used as-is.The two you bought are good spares for other machines.

Nice machine; congratulations. As Harvey said, the XI is a real good player and will give lots of good listening. I play everything on mine, acoustic and electric (no vinyl!) with soft-tone steel needles. I have a 1917 model G, serial 370330. Shortly after this, Victor changed the cabinet style slightly and introduced the "fat" tone arm with no. 2 sound box. Mine came with the Exhibition. You may want to look into rebuilding the box, if needed (hard gaskets front and back). Happy listening!
