I haven't done anything with this Grafonola and haven't found the correct crank for it yet. It needs to be a female crank and I am not 100% on the model of this phonograph.

Looks like you have a Grafonola "Favorite" or an early "50" (same machine, different name).

Suggest checking with George Vollema at Great Lakes Antique Phonograph or forum member "phonofreak" (Harvey Kravitz, major Columbia enthusiast ).

I have a first-model "Favorite" ( with Victrola-style horn doors ), which uses a female crank: the portion that goes into the machine and threads onto the winding shaft is about ⅜"-7/16" in diameter, the part outside the cabinet bushing, with the "Z-bend" and knob, steps-down to about ¼" in diameter.

If I can get to my "Favorite", I'll grab a pic or two.

As Frank said, you have a later Favorite or an early Model 50.I might have the crank you are looking for. Send me a PM, and I'll get you the price.

Sorry for the delay I was able to take a couple pictures and added them to the original link above with a rule.

Definitely a "Favorite" or 50, I would guess 1913-15 era.

This would be version 2, when Columbia switched to their "Tone Leaves" volume control after Victor threatened litigation for use of double-doors over the horn opening.

Not wishing to offend, but are you certain this requires a female-threaded crank ?

The reason I ask is that I have a Columbia "Jewel" from the same period ( brass tone arm, circular, nickeled motor-plate with two "wedges" extending from under turn-table: one for speed & brake controls, the other with name and serial #), and it uses a two-spring motor with a male-threaded crank.

No offense taken, I am the new one with phonographs! I can see the male end through the hole, and have unscrewed the motor unit to double check!
