Strange part

Anyone recognise this ? Is it a device for attaching listening tubes to a phonograph ?
Looks like a continental polymorphous Nonesuch.
( Either that, or it's a sculpture of a cat. )

Trying to be serious now, it does look like some type of air manifold...
The lifting eye confounds me...
Perhaps a gas manifold for lab burners ?
